Sandra (Sandi)'s Story
Life
After TJ I went to Rocky Mountain School of Art but wanted to buy a new car (69 orange/black camaro) so I got a secretarial job at Mountain Bell. I soon discovered that a regular pay check was nice. I switched my job to full time, left the art school and attended CU at Denver. at night.
Promotions at Mtn Bell were plentiful. I was one of 15 female sales reps to invade the male dominated sales positions. Promotions to Sales Manager/Director and others led to a position with AT&T Headquarters in New York/New Jersey. I missed Colorado and got transfered back working with the development team at Bell Labs(I was Sales/Marketing/Product Manager) on the introduction of voice mail to the world. Yeah, voice mail is my claim to fame.
Met my husband, Steven Ahlstrom thru a friend. He was in a rock band out of San Diego. We had a long distance relationship and then he moved to Denver. We married. In October 1977. .

Bell/AT&T I took an early retirement, as Steven got into computers over the years. . Had his own business for about 20 years, but now back in the corporate world.
Our only son, Adam, was a surprise after 7 years of marriage. He attended The Art Institute of Colorado - gee, I wonder where he got that gene from??? He has 3 degrees, Associate in Photography, BS in Graphic Arts, BS in Web Design. He is a survivor of the tragedy on April 20, 1999 at Columbine High School. He has always loved anything to do with with Japan (Steven went to school in Japan - a Navy brat) so Adam grew up with the culture, food, and history. He was able to visit Japan from an AIC school trip June of 2007. He wants to move there. Maybe some day we will all live in Japan.
Currently I'm an at home Mom/Wife enjoying friends and family, painting, crafts and scrapbooking and being an independent consultant for Heritage Makers,and taking care of NUMEROUS spoiled pets.
